Below are helpful links and resources if you’re interested in applying for child care subsidies or financial assistance to help offset the cost of care. Each program has its own eligibility requirements, so be sure to visit the links to learn more and apply:
1. Child Care Connection Hawaii (State Child Care Subsidy)
This program (formerly CCCH) helps eligible families pay for child care while working, attending school, or in training. You can apply online or download the application (DHS 911) to mail/email with supporting documents.

2. Child Care Aware of America
This nationwide resource provides information on military family fee assistance (including programs like MCCYN) and helps families locate providers and apply for fee assistance.

3. Pauahi Keiki Scholars (Preschool Scholarship)
A scholarship opportunity supporting preschool tuition for eligible Hawai‘i families. Application cycles are seasonal, so check the site for current details and deadlines.

4. VA Child Care Subsidy Program (for VA employees)

5. Preschool Open Doors (POD)
Preschool Open Doors is a separate state subsidy to help families sending children to a licensed preschool. There are specific application periods and income/age guidelines.

6. Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN)
This Department of Defense program provides child care fee assistance for military families who cannot access military-operated care due to waitlists or distance. Families typically apply or request care through the official MCCYN portal on MilitaryChildCare.com, then follow instructions provided for fee assistance through Child Care Aware.
